Question

How to delete migration? Desktop to QBO. Worked on CoA, Prod/Serv for 3 hours! I selected ONLY vendors and customers for migration. All is gone. How can I reconcile this?

I am so frustrated I could cry. I have tried to access the audit log to delete the migration and was not successful. My entire chart of accounts (75 or more) has been replaced to nine accounts. I only selected the vendor and customer lists when I went through the online migration steps. I hope someone can help.

I understand the importance of having your files successfully transferred, lbivens. Therefore, you have to purge your company file and then remigrate your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We can refer to this article on how to delete your data and start over again with new books: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks online.

After doing so, we can start migrating your company file again and ensure that all files and data in your chart of accounts from QBDT are correctly transferred to QBO. Please refer to this article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

You can also check this article: Learn how terms and data transfer QBDT to QBO.

For future reference, visit this article: Learn what to do after you move from QBDT to QBO.

If you need further assistance with the migration of accounts in QuickBooks, feel free to reach out again.

Do you need to migrate data from Desktop to an existing or blank Online account?
