Question

I am currently using Quicken Classic Business & Personal but just purchased Quickbooks Online. How do I import the data from Quicken to Quickbooks online? TIA

Do you need to convert data from Quicken to QBO US version or another region?

What Quicken year version do you have?

You'll want to export your data first, @vacotrading.

There is no direct, automated conversion tool from Quicken to QuickBooks Online (QBO) because they are designed for different purposes and use different file structures.

To complete your task, first, you'll need to export your Quicken data to a file in CSV format so you can import it into QuickBooks. Once done, follow the steps below to import the file:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear Icon.
  3. Select Import Data.
  4. Choose the type of list you are importing first (e.g., Chart of Accounts, Customers, Vendors).

  5. Follow the prompts to upload your CSV file and map the fields. Note: The steps may vary depending on the type of list you have selected. In this example, I chose to import the bank data.

  6. Finally, you would typically import all your data using a similar process.

Since you switched to a new platform, these articles can help you learn more about how QBO works:
