I want my accountant to be able to sign in to my account, can I send her a link or something like that?

I get a code on my phone when I sign in so it doesn't seem like it will be helpful if I just give her my password as she'll still need the text code

Hello there, Jen. Yes, you can send a link to invite your accountant to access your QuickBooks Self-Employed account without sharing your password or authentication codes.

Here’s how to invite an accountant:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self- Employed.
  2. Head over to the Gear icon  and select Accountant from the menu.
  3. In the Accountant email field, enter your accountant’s email address.
  4. Hit Send invitation.
  5. Select a Text a code to verify your identity.
  6. Enter the code in the Verification code field, and hit Continue.

Once your accountant accepts the invite, you’ll receive an email notification. From there, they’ll be able to access your account securely. If they don’t receive the email, you can always hit Resend invitation as a backup.

If you have any additional questions or concerns related to QuickBooks, feel free to reply to this thread.
