This is caused by the vendor profile and the employee profile having the same information for the first/last name, and email, Justin.

To fix this issue, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Modify the name in the Employee profile in QuickBooks to something unique that differs from the vendor’s name in QuickBooks Time.
  2. Terminate the employee so that it'll no longer appear on your active payroll list. This prevents sending the profile to QuickBooks Time.

Once done, you can then import new information by selecting the QuickBooks dropdown menu in the upper right-hand corner of QuickBooks Time.

From there, all the changes you've made from QuickBooks Online will automatically sync to your QuickBooks Time.

Additionally, I'll share this article in case you want to learn how to add and manage your team members for QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Online: Add and manage team members for QuickBooks Time.

Vendors where never set up as employees in Quickbooks, so how did they suddenly become employees/contractors in Quikbooks? THis also does not jive with what your AI help system states. It says this is because WE want to track time for contractors for 1099 purposes. THis also jives with what we are seeing. Your AI says to uncheck the 1099 tracking check box in the vendors profile to prevent them from being listed as contractors which removes the ability to track payments to them as required by law. Your AI help also states the the time integration provides a means for eliminating contractors from being imported into Quickbooks and that is not the case.  SO, what is the correct answer here, especially since our contractors are not listed as employees?

QuickBooks Time and QuickBooks Online have recently updated how they work together. Vendors set up as contractors in QuickBooks Online will now automatically appear in QuickBooks Time.

Your 1099 tracking is not affected by this. You don't need to change anything in your vendor profiles to stay compliant — that's managed separately and works the same as it always has.

If you're seeing workers appear that don't seem right for your setup, share a few more details and we'll help you sort it out.
