Question

Is there a way to re-arrange accounts in Dashboards?

I've closed my prior bank accounts and opened new ones in another bank. The old accounts are at the top of my list in Dashboards. I'd like the new ones to be on top.

There isn't a direct way to rearrange accounts on the Dashboard itself, @rose4dtc. However, you can change the order of your accounts on the Bank Transactions page, which will also change the order in which they appear in the Dashboard and other sections of QuickBooks Online.

You'll need to go through the Apps menu to change the order of your bank accounts.

Here are the correct steps to move your new bank accounts to the top of the list:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, go to Apps.
  2. Select Accounting from the app categories.
  3. Choose Bank transactions.
  4. On the Bank page, click the Reorder accounts link on the side.

  5. A list of your accounts will appear. You can then click and hold the account you want to move and drag it to the top.

  6. Once you've arranged the accounts, click Save to apply the changes.

I appreciate your help but I’m not finding a “reorder accounts” link anywhere.

To view the Reorder accounts, make sure to click the drop-down arrow beside your bank account, rose.

Once you’re on the Bank Transactions page, click the drop-down arrow next to your bank account, then select Reorder accounts. Please see the attached screenshot below for reference:
