I know you've already checked on your end, but let's also verify your device's general location settings. This ensures the QuickBooks app can run in the background. If it isn't allowed, it will only track trips when open and active.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Scroll down through your apps and tap QuickBooks.
  3. Choose Location, then select Always.
  4. Turn on the toggles for Motion & Fitness, Background App Refresh, and Cellular Data.
  5. Exit your device settings.
  6. If a prompt pops up asking about background location usage, choose Always Allow. Don’t choose the While Using the App or Only While Using option, as these settings will stop the app from tracking your trips consistently.

If you’re using an Android device, check out this link for detailed guidance: Use Google's steps.

Next, disconnect from any mobile hotspots while driving, as they can interfere with trip tracking. Then, review the mileage settings in the QuickBooks mobile app. A green checkmark means you're good to go, but if you see an exclamation icon, follow the onscreen instructions to isolate it.

If the issue persists, review the steps 5 to 9 in this article: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks mobile app.
