My Quantity on purchase order shows a negative value.

Let me share some information about the negative quantity value on your purchase order, opticsports.

You keep a certain number of products in stock to sell to customers. The quantity on hand is the amount of stock that is currently available. When a product is sold out, the quantity on hand is zero. Negative inventory occurs when the quantity on hand is less than zero. Here are some causes of negative inventory:

• The quantity you received from your vendor did not correspond to the purchase order in QuickBooks. This can result in an incorrect count.
• Your purchase orders were not converted to bills. After you create a bill, QuickBooks only counts items as inventory.
• You sell more products than you actually had.
• You didn't enter all of your purchase orders into QuickBooks.
• Because you undercounted your physical inventory, the quantity in QuickBooks is incorrect.

To resolve this, we'll need to examine your current inventory's quantity on hand. If you have a negative inventory for a product, the QTY column will show a negative amount. Take note of how much you potentially oversold. Here's how:

1. Go to Business overview then Reports, or go to Reports.
2. Search for and open an Inventory Valuation Detail report.
3. From the Report period dropdown, choose All Dates.
4. Tap Run report.

If you only want to see the products you're running out of, follow the guide below:

1. Go to Get paid & pay or Sales,
2. Choose Products and services.
3. Select Out of Stock at the top of the list. Tap Low Stock to see what's low.
