Question

Paper size for check printing

The 9.1 update to QB for Mac 2024 has broken check printing. I can no longer print on check size paper. The update refuses to allow check printing on any size paper other than letter. I called Intuit about this. Nothing has been fixed. There is absolutely no reason to REMOVE this functionality from the software. Not sure what to do about it since Intuit typically does not listen to their customers. Anybody have a work around? Or a way to get Intuit to listen?????

And to now make matters CONSIDERABLY worse, this morning QBMac is crashing when I simply to try to print a check. I'm still running R8.1 in order to print checks onto check size paper, but this morning all of a sudden I can no longer do that. I deleted the app, copied from a backup and printed one check. But the next attempt to print a check QBMac crashed again. I'm a 25-year QB user but I am at wits end. I have to be able to print checks - Intuit is effectively removing that functionality from their software - it's insane.

Hello @lomontman , a new update was just released (R9.2) that has the ability to print a single check using the envelope feeder (or custom paper size).  When printing, if you choose the option for one check on 1st page, it will allow you to choose custom paper sizing options now.

Fantastic! Glad the engineers were able to fix this. Thanks for letting me know.

Is Intuit ever going to fix this??????

Version 10.1 - still cannot print on check size paper.

I assume they've taken away this functionality forever. Appalling.

Thanks for following up with the Community, lomontman.

Since you're still unable to print on check sized paper, I'd recommend continuing to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

They can be reached while using QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to Help, then QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  2. Use your Search questions, keywords, or topics field to enter a question or topic you need help with.
  3. Select Contact Us.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with checks which may come in handy moving forward: Create, modify, & print checks

If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a great Tuesday!
