Question

Set up a new client last week and our employee can not add people they usually can on other clients, how do I sort this so they can add people?

Are you trying to add a new customer or a new client to your QuickBooks Online for Accountant account?

 

If you're adding a new client to your QuickBooks Online for Accountant account, you need to ask your client to add you as an accountant on their QuickBooks account. Once they've added you, you'll receive an email invitation. Follow the steps below to complete the setup:

 

  1. Check your email.
  2. Click Accept Invitation button on the email.
  3. Choose the user ID associated with the new client.
  4. Ensure to use your user ID in accessing your new client’s account.
  5. Type in your password.
  6. Click Accept Invite.

If you encounter any errors, you can troubleshoot the issue by accessing your QuickBooks Online account using an incognito or private browser. Use the following shortcut keys: 

 

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N
