Question

Several companies want to send me my 1099-MISC via an invitation in QB. But when I click on the invitation, it asks me to sign in, and that does not work. Suggestions?

Is there a way to find these 1099s somewhere in QB Online? I can sign in as usual, just not when using the invitation.

Hi there, treasure. Let me share some information about this.

Since you cannot access the invitation provided by your employers, if you have an existing QuickBooks Self-employed, we can utilize that instead to review your 1099 MISC.

First, fill out your W-9 to get a hold of your 1099 MISC. Here's how:

  1. If you already have a QuickBooks Self-Employed account, select Sign in. Or, follow the steps to create a limited QuickBooks Self-Employed account. This account has limited features: you can fill out your W-9, submit it, and view your 1099-MISC
  2. Go to the Clients tab.
  3. Follow the steps to fill out and submit your W-9.

After your employer or client submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS, you'll receive an email when it's ready for download. Select the link in the email to sign in to QBSE.

To view your 1099 MISC form, we can:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to the Clients menu.
  3. Select the Forms tab.
