Shipping manager is down today, when the dashboard is opened it just says loading and spins indefinitely.

Hi there, Nick. QuickBooks Shipping Manager relies on a real-time "handshake" with carriers like UPS, FedEx, or USPS. To ensure smooth and error-free operation, keep your QuickBooks Desktop updated, as Intuit frequently updates these connections to adhere to new security standards and API changes.

If you're using an outdated version of QuickBooks, the Shipping Manager attempts to use communication methods that carriers like FedEx and UPS have already retired or blocked for security reasons. Older versions depend on an unsupported framework, causing the software to freeze or hang while waiting for a response from a now non-existent server.

To resolve this, go to the Help menu > Update QuickBooks DesktopOptions > Yes > Close. For detailed instructions on updating QuickBooks Desktop, refer to this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

If the issue persists, contact our Live Support Team for further assistance in restoring the Shipping Manager to its default function. You can check support availability and contact hours on this page: Get Help with QuickBooks Products and Services.
