Hi, resolvedsf. For the tax payments that were posted to the wrong checking account, you can reclassify them to the correct account in your QuickBooks Online Chart of Accounts.

To do that, here's how:

  1. Go to the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the payroll tax transactions that were assigned to the wrong account.
  3. Select each transaction and click the Edit button to change the account to the correct checking account.
  4. Click Save to update the records.

To make sure payroll taxes are posted to the correct account in the future.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select the Payroll Settings.
  3. Scroll down and click the pencil icon in the Accounting section.
  4. Locate the Bank Account section for paycheck and payroll tax payments.
  5. Click the pencil icon to edit the account, update it to the correct checking account, and click Save.
