It sure would be nice to turn off the worthless popups in desktop 2024, but support is worthless.

Anyone have any ideas on how to shut this crap off?

I completely understand that those pop-ups can sometimes be disruptive and interrupt your workflow. These notifications are primarily designed to keep you informed about important updates or alerts. Let me explain how to take this down.

If these pop-ups are advertisements only, you can turn them off by changing certain preferences in your settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to Edit, then select Preferences.
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. Find the option labeled “Turn off pop-up messages for products and services” and check or enable it.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

However, if the pop-ups you’re seeing are related to product updates or notifications about new features, one effective way to address this is by ensuring that your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is fully up-to-date.

These steps help you minimize or turn off the pop-ups and improve your experience with Desktop Pro 2024. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to ensure you get the most out of your software. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

I'm not quite so stupid as to miss the check box at the bottom right of the ads intuit thinks i need to see.  I unchecked that, which stopped the ads.  (and subsequently removed the check from the box you pointed out)  If you actually used the software you might see this popup. Otherwise you would think it was the normal ad.  Its not. The ads open mid screen or top left of the quickbooks window. This one pops up at the top right.

Its an "information" popup. And its absolutely worthless. It does feel like an ad, with two choces.  Maybe later, or (not sure of the exact words) lets go look.

It's the "maybe later" thing that gets me.  Where is my option for "No"?  I will not want this later, ever, and want you to stop reminding me.
