Hello there, @harveststreetmission. The error you're getting is likely due to account settings or limitations in QuickBooks Online's handling of multiple companies. Here is some important information to review before creating a copy and importing it into a different company.

  • The primary admin for both the source and target companies should be the same user and serve as the primary admin for both accounts, and should have the same login credentials.
  • Company B shouldn’t have data and should have a QuickBooks Online Advanced account.
  • Company B's automation settings should be turned off before importing the data.

Here is an article you can read to learn more about creating a copy and importing data to your other company: Make a copy of your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.

If you've confirmed that everything is correctly set up and eligible but are still encountering an error, you can contact our Live Support team for additional assistance.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help icon located at the top-right of your QuickBooks Online account.
