I understand the importance of accessing the previous 1099 form, amanda. Allow me to share some insights about this matter.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) only displays archived forms for the prior two years. It's the cause of why you can see the 2022 & 2023 filings.
To address this, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team directly. They have specific tools to help you retrieve the archived form or provide additional guidance in obtaining the documentation of your tax filings.
Alternatively, you can run and export the 1099 Transaction Detail Report, which contains all the necessary information for the 1099 forms. Then, you can purchase a blank template and manually input the data.
Here's how:
Go to the Reports menu.
In the search bar, type 1099 Transaction Detail Report.
Customize the period to 2021.
Click the Export button, then choose Export to Excel.
Additionally, I've included an article to help you understand 1099 forms and prepare for tax season: Get Answers to your 1099 Questions.
Please know you can always keep us posted if you have more payroll or 1099 questions. We'll be around to help you out.
