Allow me to share some insights regarding making 1099 corrections in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Cassie.
As of now, being able to file your corrected forms with QuickBooks is currently unavailable. There's no specific date as to when will this feature be available but rest assured that sometime after January 2024, this will be available in the software.
In addition, when you e-file your form through QBO, it is not advisable to manually file the amended version because there is a chance that the form will be filed twice. Therefore, the best course of action if you e-file your 1099s through QBO is to wait for this update to be available in the system.
However, if you manually file your 1099s and want to make corrections, you may do so by printing the said form and submitting this manually to the IRS. You may contact your IRS or visit their website to learn more about what to do with your form if you submit it manually.
