Let me help you track purchases you've made via credit cards and maintain accurate financial reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO), stcc-stchrisnlv.
There are several ways to record credit card payments and the main new way is to use the Pay down a credit card option. Here are the steps you can follow.
Click + New, under Money Out (if you’re in Business view) or select Other (if you’re in Accountant view), then Pay down credit card.
Choose the credit card you made the payment.
Enter the payment amount.
Enter the date of the payment.
Find the bank account you paid the credit card with.
Select Save and Close.
If you are interested in seeing the debits and credits behind the transaction, choose the More option located at the bottom of the transaction. Then, select Transaction Journal.
To maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, I recommend reconciling your bank and credit card accounts every month. Check out the complete reconciliation guide through this link: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.
