how to delete payment methods?

Currently, there is no direct option to delete a payment method in QuickBooks, @s_langley83. However, there is an alternative way to make it inactive.

If you're referring to the payment method in the Payment settings, there's no option to delete it. 

See the picture below.

You can choose to unselect any payment methods you don't want your customers to see before sending an invoice. This way, those options will not appear in the customer's invoice email.

 

If you are talking about a manually recorded payment in QuickBooks, you can make it inactive by following these steps:

Here's how:

1. Click on the Gear icon.
2. Select All Lists.
3. Click on Payment Methods.
4. Choose the payment options you want to make inactive.  
5. Click on the drop-down menu and select Make inactive.
