What permissions do I need to assign to grant access to print a refund check?

You would need to assign the user access to both Banking (specifically the "Write Checks" function) and Customers & Receivables (to access and interact with the Accounts Receivable account and apply credits) in QuickBooks Desktop. However, you need to decide whether to allow the user full or partial access. Here's how to create a custom role below:

1. Go to the Company menu, then select Users.
2. Select Set Up Users and Roles.
3. Enter the admin password, then select OK.
4. Select the Role List tab, then select New.
5. Give the role a name and description. Note: Name something that indicates its permission level.
6. In the Area and Activities section, select an area of your accounts. Review each area and select None, Full, or Partial to set the role's permissions.
7. Once you set permissions for each area, select OK to save.
