I am finding old/conflicting info regarding the easiest way to give my employees an end-of-year bonus with a standard plan online Payroll.

With adding in end-of-year bonuses for your employees you will want to take a look at processing a Lump Sum Payment in your pay run to do this. Processing lump sum payments such as commission, bonus and back payments can be done so by aggregating the tax across a number of pay periods, depending on the method selected.
