Question

I have two employees in a payrun, but only one is showing as lodged in the Pay Event Lodgment Details screen. How can I ensure both are lodging?

Hi audra4,

If you have two employees showing in a pay run but only one in the pay event, you need to check a setting for the missing employee. If you have marked them as 'Closely Held' they will not appear in pay events as the ATO has allowed a later reporting start date for closely held employees through STP. This article will take you through greater detail on what defines a Closely Held employee and how to set them up. You can check this setting by:

  1. Select the employee's name and choose the menu Pay Run Defaults.
  2. Scroll right down to the bottom of the page and look for the 'closely held' tickbox.
  3. If they should not be marked as closely held, untick this and select Save.

If you decide they shouldn't be closely held and you want to report them for STP, unticking this option will now make them available in the pay event and you will be able to lodge this with the ATO.
