Question

I haven't paid last quarter's super guarantee due to ATO change to payday super. How hero works for super contributions?

I set up hero already for payday super, but funds has not been withdrawn yet.

Your setup only applies to future pay runs. Because your past Q4 super run was finalised before you turned on automation, HeroClear cannot automatically withdraw those funds.

To fix this, you need to manually trigger the withdrawal for the last quarter and then ensure your future settings are locked in.

Since the automation won't touch past runs, you must clear the Q4 backlog manually to meet the July 28 deadline. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Payroll, then Reports.
  2. Under Payroll, select Create Super Payment.
  3. Filter by your Q4 date range (April 1 – June 30).
  4. Select the batch and click Submit/Pay to authorize the HeroClear withdrawal.

To make sure your upcoming July pay runs automate seamlessly, double-check your schedule settings. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to All apps, select Payroll, then select Employees.
  2. Select Payroll Settings.
  3. Select Pay Schedules.
  4. Select an existing pay schedule to edit it.
  5. Under Pay run finalisation settings, select the linked word here.
  6. In the pop-up, choose Immediately or Manually.
  7. Select Next, then Complete to save.
