Question

I lodged the finalisation event (2025) for a client. The ATO's online services were disrupted and now the event is still processing 15 hrs later. How to re-set?

We've got some information to share on how to handle the lodged finalisation event that is still stuck processing due to the ATO's online services disruption, Dorretti.

We can check the ATO website or ATO's online services status page for updates on any ongoing disruptions. It usually takes 72 hours to be accepted by the ATO. To check the status of the pay event, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the Employees tab.
  2. Go to Reports and select Single Touch Payroll.
  3. Choose the Financial year and Pay schedule.

You can check out this article for more details about lodging a finalisation event: Create and lodge a finalisation event.

If more than three days have passed since the submission date and the finalisation event status remains unchanged, we suggest reaching out to our Live Phone Support for assistance in verifying the pay event ID.

Once done, we can submit an amended finalisation event. Here's how:

  1. Click Employees from the left-hand menu
  2. Select the Reports tab
  3. Choose Single Touch Payroll (Located under ATO Reporting)
  4. Select the dropdown arrow next to Start Finalisation Process and choose Create an amended Finalisation Event

To learn more about this process, refer to this article for the steps and details: Creating and Lodging an Amended Finalisation Event.
