Question

go back and pay vacation from last month

It is our policy if an employee is off he is required to take any available vacation hours. If we didnt have this policy folks would take off whenever they wanted and they would not choose to take vacation.

I had an employee that was off October 15. He didn't request vacation  and I forgot to use one of his vacation days for that pay period.

Today he just asked off for a vacation day.  On the workforce app  appears he has 24 vacation hours balance, but he really only has 16 hours.    To make this right i need to go and pay the 8 vacation hours from October 15th.

How do I go into TIME and tag a vacation day for Oct oct 15th, yet create the check today ( in November)

Thanks

clarification:   I unlocked the exported for that week.    I added the 8hrs vacation to the missing day in October , but when i go back to approve that day... it wrongly aproves the whole week.  I only want to approve that 8 hrs as the other 32 has been approved and paid.

Hey, @LDO

Thanks for reaching out to the Community with your questions!

To tag a past vacation day for October 15th in QB time, you must first enter the vacation day with the correct past date. Use QB time to process the payroll for the current date in November, which should automatically include the vacation time if it's set up correctly.

You may need to adjust the time-off settings and payroll information to reflect the past date.
