To help us get this sorted, what happens when you try to create and submit the report? Let us know if you're seeing an error message, if an option is missing, or if the screen behaves differently than expected.

If you are having trouble finding the right section due to layout changes, the steps to enter and submit your CIS deductions depend on the specific version of QuickBooks Online Payroll you are using.

If you are using QuickBooks Online Core, Premium, or Elite Payroll:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings, then scroll down to the bottom.
  2. Next to CIS Suffered, select the Pencil icon.
  3. Enter the total CIS deductions amount for the period, including the date, and select Save Record.
  4. To submit this to HMRC, go to All apps, select Payroll, and click Payroll taxes under the Payroll Tax Centre.
  5. Find the Rejected or Pending status, select File, then click Submit.

If you are using QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll:

  1. Go to All apps and select Employees.
  2. Select Reports, then HMRC Reporting, and open the P32 Report.
  3. Navigate to the CIS tab to enter the correct CIS deductions suffered.
  4. To submit the report, go back to Reports.
  5. Within HMRC reporting, select Employer payment summary (EPS).
  6. Choose the Tax Year and then select Run report.
  7. Select Submit EPS, choose the tax period that you are submitting for, and click Submit EPS again.
