Question

Hi, I'm trying to make a journal entry with accounts receivables. It's obligatory to add the name of the client in the name field. When I added, I have the same mistake.

Hello, Aray. When creating a journal entry that uses Accounts Receivable, QuickBooks Online requires a customer name in the Name field so the transaction can be linked to that customer’s balance.

You mentioned you're still getting the same issue after adding the name. Are you referring to a balance issue? If so, here are a few things to check:

  • Review the amounts entered in the Debit and Credit columns to ensure they are correctly allocated and equal.
  • Verify that each line of the journal entry is assigned to the correct account.
  • Confirm that the total debits match the total credits before saving the entry.

You may also want to consult your accountant for guidance to ensure the entry is recorded properly.
