Question

I would like to whether there's a report in QB, that displays the "Name" of all journal entries manually posted?

The transaction report by split doesn't show details under "Name" field for journal entries posted manually, eventhough the manual entry shows a narration under "Name" field.

We can run a journal report to display the details in the Name field, Dilantha.

We appreciate you running a transaction report to gather the data you need. Aside from this one, we can run a Journal report to show the details in the Name field as long as you include them in the field when creating the journal entry. Let's make sure we customise it and select the full names and line description in the Columns section. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports on the left menu.
  2. Search for the Journal report in the search bar.
  3. Click the Columns icon and select Name, Full Name, Line Description, and Customer full name
  4. Tap Filter.
  5. Choose Transaction type in the first field.
  6. Select Journal Entry in the third field.
  7. Choose the date in the Report period field.

You can check out this article to help you filter a report to get the data you need and save it with its current customization settings: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

If you need to export the report and modify it, we can export it to Microsoft Excel. Refer to this article for the steps and details: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online
