Hi there,

Exporting reports from QBO to Excel is an awesome way to keep a back-up copy of your important financial information. QuickBooks Online allows you to export to a PDF or Excel document in the click of a button. I'd be happy to clarify what happens if your report is in 'collapsed' format.

You're able to collapse the various sections of your report by clicking the drop-down arrow next to each header. This will condense the report so it's easier to read. If you export the report in collapsed format, the exported version will not be collapsed. You'll see all the columns and rows appear in the exported version in Excel.

I hope this helps clear things up for you. If you have any other questions, please touch base with our tech support team.

Have a great weekend.
