Can you generate a comparative trial balance report

The report option you've described isn't available in QuickBooks. I encourage you to check out this article here that goes over the: Reports included in your QuickBooks Online subscription. You're welcome to send feedback about customizing the Trial Balance to our engineers by clicking on the Gear icon and looking for Feedback.
