Compare COGS category to sales/product category

You mentioned setting up Cost of Goods Sold (COGs) and a product sales category. Are these categories intended for both product and service items? If that’s the case, you can generate a Product/Service List report, select the customized items, and filter the date. The results will be displayed as lists, although they won’t appear side by side.
 

Here's how:
 

1. Open the Reports menu.
2. Search for the Product/Service List report. 
3. Apply filters for categorized items and dates.
4. Click on Run report.
    

Alternatively, you can export the reports to Excel, and from there, you can customize the report to show side-by-side comparisons of COGS to sales/product categories.
