How do you modify fiscal year?

I'm happy to see you reach out to Community.  Welcome!  There are circumstances when your fiscal year may need to updated to stay aligned with your filing periods.  In QuickBooks Online, you'll have the access you need to reach your goal.  Let me show you how!

To edit the fiscal year, follow these steps:

1. Click on the Gear in the top right corner of your account

2. Select Account and Settings

3. Choose the Advanced tab from the left menu

4. To the far right of the Accounting section, click on the Edit icon

5. Complete the fields for First Month of Fiscal Year and First Month of Income Tax Year

6. When finished, hit Save and then Done
