If I am in the wage expense accounts in preferences how can I change the GL account

Welcome to the Community. QuickBooks is a versatile program that simplifies the way you manage your accounts. I'd like to help make sure you experience this benefit so you can continue to do what you love. 

In order to change the account for your wages, please follow the steps below: 

1. Click on the Gear Icon.
2. Select Payroll Settings.
3. Under Preferences, choose Accounting.
4. In the bank account dropdown, choose the correct account, and click OK.
5. A message will ask if you want to update existing transactions and add the date you wish to update the transactions from. Click OK.
