Can anyone explain why Profit and Loss figure on Business overview is different from figure on actual P & L report?

I’ve got your back in assuring you get the same figures when pulling up profit and loss reports in QuickBooks Online, @alex204.

 

When pulling up reports, let’s make sure to select the same Reporting period and Accounting method when switching to a different view as these filters affect the data shown on the report.

 

To start, open your Profit and Loss report and fix these filters by following the steps below:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu and locate the Profit and Loss report.
  2. From the header section, select the dates you want to see data under the Report period.
  3. Next to it, select which Accounting method you want to apply to your reports.
  4. Click, Run report.
