Hello, leetaylorcleanin.

I'm here to help you record and categorize your expenses.

Before anything else, I'd like to ask how you entered the transactions if these expenses are imported from your bank or scanned so I can walk you through the correct steps.

A browser-related issue might have caused the unexpected behavior when trying to save your vehicle expenses. We can verify that by logging in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account through a private browser. To use a private browser, here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Then, you can use these easy steps on how to add your transactions:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. At the upper-right, click Add transaction.
  3. Enter the expense details from left to right and categorize it accordingly.
  4. Review the info and click Save.

If you're able to save the transaction, you can go back to the main browser and clear the cache. If the same thing happens, you can use other supported browsers to get rid of the unusual behavior.

Feel free to visit our Taxes page for more insights about managing your categorized transactions in QBSE.
