Apply an older pre-payment against a Project

I had received a pre-payment from a customer and booked it as a credit to the client. I've since set up a Project for that client and want to apply the payment to the project rather than the client. Is there a simple way to do this?

Good morning Jack Thompson,

 

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! For now, credits are only applied to invoices and customer/vendor balances. However, I see the benefit of having those applied to Projects as well! Therefore, I will go ahead and submit feedback to our Developers about including a feature like this in future updates, and I encourage you to join me.
