Yes, you can upload W-9s into your contractor's profile if you enter their information manually in QuickBooks Online (QBO), billing. We'll guide you on how to complete this process below.
We have two methods for entering contractors' data in QBO. You either enter manually or you let them fill it out themselves.
If you enter the contractor's W-9 information manually, here's how you can upload the form into their account:
Go to Expenses or Payroll, then select the Contractors tab.
Choose the contractor’s name.
Select the Documents tab to upload a copy of the W-9.
We'll always be available in this forum if you have additional questions about managing contractors' profiles. Please don't hesitate to leave them in the comments below. Keep safe, and have a good one.
I followed the above directions, and once I got to the Documents section, it said waiting for info, but there was no edit section for me to input the W-9. How can I input it?
The reason you're not seeing the option to upload it yourself for your contractor is because you've already invited them to add their own information. They'll need to upload the documents for you themselves.
Feel free to come back if you have any other questions. Bye for now!
