Question

Can QuickBooks Desktop Accountant automatically set the CRA PD7A payroll remittance due date each month?

Hello,

I’m using QuickBooks Desktop Accountant – Canada and prepare monthly payroll for multiple clients.

Each month, I generate the PD7A Summary and email the report to the client so they can see the payroll remittance amount they need to pay to CRA.

I would like the CRA remittance due date to appear directly on the PD7A Summary report, so when I email the PDF to the client, they can clearly see both:

Remittance for period: $871.12
Payment due date: September 15, 2026

Is there a way to customize the PD7A Summary so QuickBooks automatically displays the applicable remittance due date each month?

Ideally, QuickBooks would calculate the due date based on the payroll period/remitter frequency, rather than requiring me to manually add the date every month.

If this is not currently possible, is there another QuickBooks Desktop report or built-in method that can show both the PD7A remittance amount and its due date on the PDF sent to the client?

Thank you.

QuickBooks Desktop Accountant (Canada) does not automatically display the CRA PD7A remittance due date directly on the native PD7A Summary report layout. While the software tracks your remitter schedule internally to populate liability reminders, the PD7A report template itself only pulls payroll totals and source deduction breakdowns for the selected date range.

Here’s how to customize the report header to include the due date before sending the PDF to your client:

  1. Click the Reports menu in the top navigation bar.
  2. Hover over Employees & Payroll and select PD7A.
  3. Click Customize Report at the top left, then select the Header/Footer tab.
  4. Go to the Subtitle field and enter your due date alongside the reporting period.
  5. Click OK to refresh the report layout.
  6. Select Print/Email at the top to save or send the report as a PDF.
