Do you store company files on a server? Do you have the latest backup file? Copy the file to your local computer and try to restore it. Any error message?

Error code (-6155, 0) in QuickBooks Desktop usually means there's a problem opening your company file, often caused by data corruption, network issues, or insufficient permissions. To fix this, update QuickBooks and run the QuickBooks File Doctor to repair it automatically. Also, copy your company file to a local folder to check permissions and make sure it isn't set to Read-only.

To update QuickBooks Desktop, here's how:

  1. Select Help at the top menu bar, then choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Choose Update Now at the top, then check the box next to Reset Update.
  3. Click Get Updates.

Restart your computer and check if QuickBooks error 6155,0 still appears. If the issue continues, run the QuickBooks File Doctor Tool to repair company file errors.

Here's how:

  1. Download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open Tool Hub, then select Company File Issues.
  3. Click Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
  4. Select Browse and search to find your file.
  5. Select Check your file (middle option only) and then Continue.
  6. Enter your QuickBooks admin password, then select Next.

Next, check permissions and the Read-only status to resolve any access issues or file locks:

  1. Right-click your company folder, select Properties, and then Security.
  2. Ensure your user account has Full Control.
  3. Right-click your .qbw file, select Properties, and make sure the Read-only checkbox is cleared.
