You've come to the right place for assistance, LA SAC. I'll provide detailed input to help you add an independent contractor profile to your online account.
In QuickBooks, you can set up your contractors as vendors in your file. With this, it's best to have your contractors fill out a W-9 form so you can easily set up their profile. You can download W-9 forms directly from the IRS.
However, if you want to enter details for them manually and didn't opt to send them an email, you can refer to these steps if you have QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Contractor Payments:
Go to Expenses, then select Contractors.
Select Add a contractor
Enter your contractor’s info or select the Email this contractor checkbox so they can fill it out.
Once done, select Add Contractor.
Then, click Addnext to Personal details or Bank account and enter the contractor info.
When finished, select Save.
In addition, I've included these references to help you prepare your contractor 1099s for the upcoming tax season:
We're always ready to back you up if you have additional questions about contractor's 1099s. Please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Keep safe, and have a good one!
