I have hearing devices that I need to categorize. There is eye care, dentist, but no hearing or other medical expenses.Can i add a custom category for medical expenses?

Hello there, @margeplas. I'll be glad to help you create custom categories for your transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

 

To create custom categories, you'll need to enable the QuickBooks Labs in QBSE. 

 

To do that:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Labs under Tools.
  3. Click Turn it on to open the Manage Categories window.
  4. In the Business Categories dropdown, choose a category and click Add a Custom Category.

 

However, if you're unable to access the QuickBooks Labs in QBSE, I recommend sending your valuable feedback to our software engineers. This way, they can include this feature in your QBSE account. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Invoices and open an invoice.
  2. Click Feedback in the upper-right corner.
  3. Enter your feature request, then Next.

 

Furthermore, you can run financial reports in QBSE to get detailed information about business finances.
