You can install the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 to upgrade your file and convert it to QBO.

What about using "QuickBooks Tool Hub"?

Hello there, danny.

It's my pleasure to help you migrate data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

We can't directly convert your QuickBooks Desktop 2016 files to QBO because the desktop version is discontinued. You'll want to upgrade your company file to the latest version.

First, download a trial version of QBDT 2024 using this link: Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop.

After that, you can now move your data to QBO.

Additionally, there are only certain types of details we can bring over. Here are the following:

  • Bank Data
  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Products and Services
  • Invoices

You can check this link if you encounter any conversion issues: How to fix errors when converting from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, you can check this article to learn how to get started with QuickBooks: Get started and adjust settings after you sign up for QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you need more help managing your data and entering transactions in QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Take care.
