I want to update my entire chart of accounts to more closely reflect standard accounting practices with the appropriate numbers and account categories. Is there tutorial?

While there isn’t a specific video tutorial for updating the entire Chart of Accounts (COA) in QuickBooks, the software customizes your COA automatically based on the business entity type you select when creating your company file. This ensures the accounts are tailored to meet the unique needs of your business.

 

You can only modify account numbers and names in your Chart of Accounts to better align with your company’s financial reporting preferences or requirements. To do so, simply click the pencil icon in the Chart of Accounts section, which allows batch edits to multiple accounts.
