Question

inventory value not showing in reports properly

Hello,

My inventory value isn't showing up correctly in reports.

I'm running the inventory valuation summary and it's only showing for certain items.

On top of that, it's only showing the value based on our COGS prices for each assembled final product, and I need it to reflect the wholesale value of what we have in stock to get a good snapshot for what value we've carried over in the beginning of the year. We sell B2B, and Ecommerce, but if I can at least get the wholesale projected value, I can extrapolate the ecommerce value based off of our speculated sales reports from that based on trends and 2023 sales figures.

Can anyone help me with this? This report is totally f***ed up and I need it really bad.

Thank you in advance for any help with this that you can offer. It is very much appreciated. 🙂

Hello there, j.vonstetten.

I understand your frustration with the inventory valuation summary not displaying correct values for certain items.

When running the Inventory Valuation Summary report, it'll only show the SKUQTYAsset Value, and Calc. Avg. With that, showing the wholesale value is unavailable.

You can manually calculate it using the wholesale calculator. Check this link for more details: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/global/tools-and-templates/wholesale-price-calculator/#.

Hello Mabel,

Why is it only showing in part of the column for some of the sku's, but not all. How can I fix that?

I've attached a photo of what my report looks like right now.

It's good to have you back, j.vonstetten.

I can help you figure out why some of the SKU's not showing in part of the column.

It could be that the SKU information for the item hasn't been entered, causing it to not show in the report.

You'll want to review the data entry to ensure that SKUs are being entered consistently for all items.

I've added some resources you can check that will help you manage your inventory and keep track of them:

so what kind of company...especially with the name INTUIT, that USED to be reputable and RELIABLE, has a problem like THIS... a critical report, that simply is "GONE/MISSING"... SINCE JANUARY OF LAST YEAR 2024...it's now nearing the end of 2025...so for OVER A YEAR AND A HALF, this issue STILL PERSISTS AND THE PHONE SUPPORT CAN DO ZERO ABOUT IT.  THEY DONT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE REPORT (REALLY??? that's who you have answering your QB tech support calls?  people that don't even know about the reports your application should be able to natively generate???? TESTAMENT TO INTUITS NEGLECT RIGHT THERE)

and to clarify? for me, the report DOESNT SHOW UP AT ALL.. IT's supposedly a STANDARD report (meaning a native QB report) and when searched for in the magnifyer, search results show "STANDARD - INVENTORY VALUATION REPORT" but upon clicking it, i get an "oops look like something went wrong or isn't working right, try again later"....

WHAT THE HECK?????!!!!!!  A terrible terrible garbage application and an even worse company that fails to address the issues PERSISTENTLY OVER YEARS

Every other day they try to increase the price

The spam their own f***ng customers incessantly from within their own program

And yes, even basic reports and functionality ESPECIALLY ON REPORTS doesn't even work.

On quickbooks desptop I used ot be able to run a best seller report on 3 different varieties in literally 1 click, it took less than 30 seconds.

On this bloated piece of poorly tested hot garbage, it doesn't do it by items, only sales totals, AND I HAVE TO EXPORT IT TO A WHOLE SEPARATE PROGRAM in an excel sheet to even look at and sort or order.

It's awful.

I'm going back to desktop, or hosted desktop, or Xero, or Zoho. This is infuriating and a waste of money. I totally feel your frustration.
