I am having a difficult time creating a report in QB Online that is similar to the Job Profitability Detail report from QB Desktop. I need to be able to see each of my products/services with the costs and revenue displayed.

I'd be glad to help you see the products/services with the costs and revenue displayed in QuickBooks Online (QBO), kmouris.

First off, let's run the Project Profitability report and modify to view the details needed. Here's how:

  1. Go to Projects on the left pane.
  2. Double-click the project name.
  3. Under Project reports, select Project Profitability.
  4. Click Customize.
  5. Filter the Display columns by Products/Services.
  6. Once done, click on Run report.

You can display its Column by Products and Services, where Income is the Revenue and Expenses are under Cost.

In case you need assistance setting up a project, you can browse through this article: Create and manage projects in QuickBooks Online.

Is there any way to change the layout of this report? The version from QuickBooks Desktop had the services/products as rows versus columns. It was a lot easier to read by scrolling down.

Thanks for checking back with us, @kmouris.

I understand how beneficial changing the layout of the report would be for you and your business. However, at this time, there isn't a way to modify the layout of the report. You can sort the report from ascending order to descending order and edit the titles.

If you'd like, you can always submit a Feedback request to our Product Development Team. Our developers review each request and consider them all for future updates. I'm including the link to send your suggestion below.
