QBO: Budget vs actual for a one week period

I just switched from desktop to online advanced (and I'm regretting it). Every week, I need to pull a budget vs actual report for the previous week, and I need it to show actual vs the budget for only that specific week. So let's say I pull the report for September 1-7. It gives me the actual for that time period, but it gives me the budget for the whole of September. How do I make it give me the actual and the budget for ONLY September 1-7?

I understand how important it is to generate a report that displays the data you need for financial tracking, @Things2do. Let me clarify this to provide a better understanding of the Budget vs Actual report in QBO.

The system shows the entire month’s budget even if you filtered the dates to September 1-7 because the budget was created on a monthly basis. This means that when you run the report, it displays the total budget for the full month of September.

There are three options available for creating a budget: Yearly, Quarterly, and Monthly. See the sample report below:

Currently, QuickBooks Online doesn’t have an option to break down the budget by weeks within a month to align with the actuals.

As a workaround, you can export the report to Excel and manually create a weekly breakdown. Please note, however, that once you edit the report in Excel, it won’t match the reports in QuickBooks.

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions or concerns.
