Question

Report of Customer Sales Totals + Customer Addresses

Hello. I need to create a customized report that, simple though it is, seems impossible as far as I can tell. Making a hail mary in hopes someone here can help.

I need a report that can:

  1. Show sum total donations by customer
  2. Include the customer’s address

That’s it.

I can easily create #1 using “Sales by Customer Summary” and filtering by Product/Service, but for some reason this report has no customization option for Columns in order to add a column for Customer Bill or Ship Address.

I can create #2 using “Sales by Customer Detail” and filtering by Product/Service, BUT this report displays every single transaction, not just sum totals, and it can’t sort by customer totals.

Is there any possible workaround?

I am using QuickBooks Online Advance.

Thank you in advance

You’re right about the Sales by Customer Summary giving you clean totals without address columns, while the Sales by Customer Detail includes addresses but with every single transaction. To get the layout you need, you have to run two separate reports in your QuickBooks Online Advanced and merge them in Excel.

Start by generating your Sales by Customer Summary, making sure to filter it to include only your donation products or services. Once you have that, use the Export icon and select Export to Excel to transfer the data. Next, run the Customer Contact List report, which includes both billing and shipping addresses, and export that as well. Finally, combine these two files in Excel.
