Are you attempting to create a recurring invoice based on an existing invoice, or is the template you've generated not appearing in the list or seems to be missing?
You can use the magnifying glass or the search function in QuickBooks Online to look for that invoice to create a recurring invoice. Here are the steps:
Go to the Sales menu and click on All sales.
From the Type dropdown menu, choose Invoices.
Set the Date and Customer.

You can find all the recurring transactions you've created from the Transactions page and then go to the Recurring transactions tab or from your Settings and then Recurring transactions under Lists.
