The General Ledger report in Modern View automatically organizes your accounts in standard accounting order (Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Income, and Expenses), matching the layout of your chart of accounts. We updated this based on feedback from accountants and small businesses to make reporting easier to follow.
If your General Ledger isn't displaying in that order, here are a couple of things to check:
- Make sure you haven't applied a manual sort by clicking a column header (like Distribution Account or Transaction Date), which would override the default grouping.
- Verify that the report grouping settings are configured correctly to organize transactions by account type.
