under the mileage tab I have manually entered 32256 miles but under the tax summary the software is showing 102,583 miles. this doesn't make any fcking sense and its completely screwing up my tax reports. I pay a FUCKING ton of money for this software. why is it glitching?!

The Tax Summary in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) calculates your mileage deduction based on your business mileage. If you entered 32,256 miles but the Tax Summary displays 102,583 miles, review your mileage records to identify the cause of the discrepancy.

To review your mileage:

  1. Go to Mileage.
  2. Review the mileage transactions for the affected tax year.
  3. Check for additional, duplicate, automatically tracked, or imported trips.
  4. Make sure only eligible trips are marked as Business.
  5. Correct or delete any inaccurate mileage entries, then review the Tax Summary again.

If the Mileage section shows only 32,256 business miles but the Tax Summary still shows 102,583 miles, export your mileage data and compare the totals. Since business mileage affects your tax deduction, resolve discrepancies before using the Tax Summary for filing.
