How do I assign an invoice template to a customer type? I have Canadian and US clients and the information on them is different for each customer type.

thanks for reaching out about your invoice templates. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you create and send invoices for your customers. I can provide some information about invoice customization.

There isn't a way to assign invoice templates to specific customers. When creating an invoice for a customer, and you don't want to use your default template, you'll need to click on the Customize button in the bottom bar, then select the template you want to use. I can see that this would be a feature that you'd like to see to be able to assist with creating invoices. I recommend leaving feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear Icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration when designing new features for the software.
